How to Send in a Picture or Poem
for the Online Awareness Quilt
Using a Digital Camera:

Position your picture or poem in the full frame of the camera's view screen, and make sure the picture or poem is well lit or use the flash for best results.

Take a snapshot of your picture or poem, and download it to your computer.

Save your picture or poem to a location where you can easily find it, such as your desktop.

Attach the picture/poem file to an email message, and send with the appropriate information to: (please send only one picture or poem per message)

email

Please include the following information on the picture or poem:

* Artist's/Writer's first name only
* Artist's/Writer's age when the picture/poem was created (we accept pictures/poems by children up to 18)
* Artist’s/Writer's city and state where they lived at the time the picture/poem was created (If outside North America please include city and country)

Please include the following information in your e-mail:
* The medium used to create the picture or poem (crayon, marker pens, or watercolor)
Note: Work Cannot Be Returned

How to Send in a Scanned Picture or Poem:

Scan your picture or poem using a low resolution such as 72 DPI (Dots Per Inch), or set your scanning software to screen presentation or equivalent.

(Using a high resolution will not improve the quality of the image in the gallery, and will create a large file which will considerably slow down the email (pictures/poems displayed in the gallery will be no larger than 640 pixels wide by 480 pixels high).

Save your picture or poem to a location where you can easily find it, such as your desktop (avoid saving the picture as a GIF file, as this reduces the colors in the image to 256, degrading the quality; use JPG, or TIF instead).

Attach and insert (into e-mail body) the picture/poem file to an email message, and send with the appropriate information (please send only one picture per message) to:
